Tice Creek School
Walnut Creek, CA
Utilizing Measure D funding, Tice Creek School in the Walnut Creek School District implemented upgrades to facilities, infrastructure, and energy efficiency. As project landscape architect in collaboration with prime HY Architects, GATES led the renovation design of the campus’ outdoor spaces, creating more flexible areas that allow for a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor activities.
The design supports a wide range of programming, both small and large group gatherings, and promote outdoor social activities. Project highlights include six new outdoor classrooms and one learning space for STEAM Classrooms, two outdoor lunch areas around the Multi-Purpose Room with shades, an amphitheater with turf mound under the existing trees, and a new blacktop that extends to the existing ball field.
This project was completed in 2019.
