Gates Studio is an award-winning Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to “get people outside” and make life better. Our office currently employs 30 professionals, including landscape architects, planners, graphic designers, marketing and support staff. We have a broad range of projects including mixed use, urban design and planning, commercial work, residential communities, park master planning, design guideline creation, streetscape, and civic projects. Opportunities abound and growth is encouraged.
The Position:
We are looking for a well-versed professional who is a strategic thinker, motivator and thoughtful communicator. Experience in A&E industry is encouraged. Candidate must be capable of leading a group of professionals primarily in public and private proposal pursuits, strategic professional alignments, and marketing efforts. Computer proficiency and Adobe Suite experience is essential, graphic design is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
Proposal Coordinator & Graphic Production
50% Proposal Coordination
Lead & compile responses to RFPs / RFQs / Qualifications Packages
Analyze RFP/RFQ requirements and develop compliance matrices, production schedules, draft scope and fee documentation.
Collaborate with project managers, principals, and technical staff to gather project information and develop project approach.
Write, edit, and tailor content including firm profiles, resumes, project descriptions, and cover letters.
Maintain and update a library of standard promotional collateral, website, resumes, project sheets, and other content.
Support marketing department initiatives, which may include:
Award pursuits
Social media
Events & speaking opportunities
Business development
Website
Project photography
Business promotion
50% Planning
Provide graphic support to landscape architecture planning team, which may include:
Project logos
Project branding guidelines (color palette, fonts)
Infographics
Social media graphics
Project website layout & graphics
Document layout support
Provide administrative support to landscape architecture planning team, which may include:
Data entry
Map labeling
Copyediting

Required Experience
Familiarity with AEC terminology, proposal processes, and procurement methods (public and private).
Graphic design skills or an eye for layout and visual consistency.
Soft Skills / Working Style
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and writing etiquette.

These responsibilities are typical but are not all-encompassing. Each person is expected to work collaboratively as a team and to perform the duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule, within the project budget and the budgeted hours provided.
Compensation and Benefits:
Your health and welfare are a priority to us, we offer a competitive compensation package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), 401K, Paid time off (PTO), and Sick leave. A Hybrid 40 hr. schedule after 90 days upon approval by manager (2 remote days maximum).
$65,000 - $85,000/year depending on experience.
