Founded in 1977 by David and Linda Gates, Gates Studio has a rich history of being a family-run business deeply passionate about the outdoors. In 2019, we became a women-owned business, with Casey Case as president. Our sole office relocated to downtown Walnut Creek in 2021, and our firm continues to provide high level landscape architecture, urban design, and planning expertise to help our clients transform visions and goals into practical reality.

Gates Studio is a firm that thrives on a combination of creativity and reality-based engineering. Our team aims to visualize a world as a place where people are brought together to experience and enjoy beautiful, sustainable, and functional places for people of all backgrounds and abilities. Our studio is a place where our team works to transform visions & goals into practical reality, while also fostering personal growth and a love for nature.
